
Starting in 2026, Majalah Kedokteran Bandung (MKB)/Bandung Medical Journal will update its Focus and Scope, continuing to publish open-access, peer-reviewed research in tropical medicine, infectious diseases, biomedical sciences, and public health, with an emphasis on the translational and clinical relevance of experimental findings.
The journal is published quarterly (March, June, September, and December) by the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Padjadjaran. It publishes original research articles written in English that contribute to the advancement and dissemination of medical knowledge. All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer-review process as well as editorial evaluation before acceptance for publication.
Majalah Kedokteran Bandung was first published in 1967. MKB received ISSN 0126-074X for its print version in 2007. Starting from Vol. 41 No. 1 (2009), it also obtained ISSN 2338-6223 for its online version under the policy of BRIN. Therefore, publications from March 2009 to December 2014 have been back-issued.
Majalah Kedokteran Bandung (MKB) is accredited for the period 2020–2025 by the National Journal Accreditation (ARJUNA), managed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, with a Second Grade ranking (Peringkat 2, Sinta 2) (No. 158/E/KPT/2021).
Abstracted and indexed in: Portal Garuda, IPI, SINTA, Google Scholar, DRJI, EBSCOhost, CiteFactor, BASE, Crossref, DOAJ, Web of Science Master Journal List (ESCI), among others.
Starting in 2024, Majalah Kedokteran Bandung increased its publication capacity to include 12 articles per issue.
We are pleased to announce that since 2021, MKB has been indexed in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), one of the databases within the Web of Science Core Collection. We extend our sincere gratitude to all authors, reviewers, and contributors whose support has enabled this achievement.
